Do you hear any activity on the UHF frequencies on that license for the Troy High School site?

I haven't been able to get anything from the high school. I discovered the RAN 45 with my TRX-1 audio utility. By using the EZ Scan audio utility to analyze the data, I received the RAN 45 on both Armenia and Pisgah frequencies. I currently have my TRX-2 programmed with Baptist Hill as RAN 44 and Troy(Armenia & Pisgah) as RAN 45. With Baptist Hill I get a number of TG's from NYS. From Troy I only get the encrypted TG 100. I think that Armenia is most likely site 109. And when I started getting the TG 100 I no longer got the analog.

I'd like to be more help, but I haven't studied this in months. And the data I did have got deleted somehow. Now that I have a multicoupler I can dedicate the TRX-1. I will program Armenia, Baptist Hill, and Pisgah as stand alone sites and see what happens.

Whistler scanners are not the most reliable way to figure out DMR or NXDN systems. We've mentioned this to you multiple times in the past, but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears. The best way to figure these systems out is by using an RTL dongle with software such as DSD+ Fast Lane. Any results you come up with using a Whistler scanner is going to be questionable, as it has in the past.

The actual Armenia and Pisgah frequencies in use can not have the same RAN. Mobiltech has adjacent frequencies licensed to adjacent sites. For example, 151.5425 at Armenia and and 151.550 at Pisgah. The poor selectivity of the TRX-1 can't distinguish between those two frequencies so you don't know what you are hearing. If Armenia is actually transmitting RAN 45 on 151.5425 and you have Pisgah programmed for 151.550 it is likely to hear the Armenia 151.5425 and you have no way to know what you are hearing. That explains why you think you are hearing the same RAN on 2 different sites with no way to know which is correct.

Penfield is Site 77 so it is RAN 13, CC is 153.425 and seldom changes. The usual TGs on the site are Greece 11 & 12, Williamson 61 and Wayne Central 156. Williamson or Wayne, maybe both, use Individual Call quite a bit so you need to have ID Search active to hear it. *
Thank you.

OK went in the shack and fired up a 996P2. Out of the seven sites I have programmed (six Monroe County plus South Bristol) I am picking up a carrier on three of them: Fairport, Henrietta, and South Bristol. Where are you located? I'm near Spencerport; sounds like you are on the east side somewhere. I've always doubted if some of these sites are actually on the air; if they are they must be pretty low power. Logically I should be picking up the closer sites (Brockport and Greece), not the ones I can actually 'hear'.

I will leave the scanner running and logging with ProScan and see if I pick up any traffic. Chances are I will not. If schools are running buses for sports today they will be few and far between and unless there is an issue no reason for them to talk to their base.
I'm on the Brighton/Penfield border and looked up Penfield site location and it's less than mile away not more than 2 miles line of site which I have.

New Site on the air:
Site 117 Webster WROI508 RAN53 152.300d 152.330 NL 26,30,32,59,68,73,77,79,90
It may be in test mode - TG156 (Wayne Central) is active and it is rejecting other TGs.

Site 77 Penfield is fairly busy this morning with TG156 quite active.

The associated UHF site at the school in Ontario Center is operating NXDN48 conventional on 461.6125 RAN28. Reception is a mess here since SaiaNet Attica is co-channel.
