Anyone know where MobileTech RAN 36 is located? I am hearing this on 151.850 and 151.910.

Also, I noticed that Tully RAN 12 is using 153.620.

The Site ID matches the RAN, and so RAN 36 would indicate Site 36. So far the NXDN sites are using the same Site ID as the LTR system, and so Site 36 would presumably be Ilion in Herkimer County, which has those two frequencies on the LTR system.

Make a submission for that as well as the additional frequency at Tully, and I'll take care of the changes.

Good catch!

I agree that RAN 36 and the frequencies matches Illion which is out of range for me. Your RAN 12 does match an additional frequency for Tully so that is undoubtedly what you heard. Was 153.620 a control channel or a voice channel when you heard it? I have not caught that one active or see it show up on a neighbor list yet and the Tully CC is 150.920 right now.

The RAN matches the Site ID up to 64 and then is reused as RAN + 64 = Site ID. So, you have to be careful with the low numbered RANs. For Example, RAN 15 is both Site 15 Rome and Site 79 Greece.

There are new Mobiltech NXDN sites in the Adirondacks and up north that are out of range for me that you may be able to hear.

What are you seeing for a neighbor list on Site 36? That could be the key to new sites out in your area.

I also see we have no neighbor list yet for Site 15. That would also help identify the new sites in the area.

While monitoring the Rome MobileTech control channel (151.985 MHz), my laptop/RTL-SDR combo logged 151.715 MHz. Unfortunately, DSDPlus didn't tag it as RAN 15. Hopefully, I will log it again tomorrow so I can verify this is real.

Slightly off-topic question, but related... How does the Neighbor List work with DSDPlus and where will I see this information? The DSDPlus help menu indicates the "n" key will rebuild and display neighbor list. Is this option only for P25?

The DSD+ Event Log will display the NL data shortly after the signal is acquired but it will scroll off screen eventually with system traffic. It can be refreshed with "n" and/or all site data with"d".

The NL data includes the CC frequency for each neighbor. A site may have up to 8 neighbors and most Mobiletech sites do have 8. I find that fewer than 8 means there is still a buildout in progress for neighboring sites that will eventually be listed. This data is the key to discovering new sites.

The bottom line of the Event Log page continuously lists the NL site numbers.

Here is the Ilion site's neighbor list:
R13-36 neighbor: Site R13-3; CC=41822 152.2775
R13-36 neighbor; Site R13-15; CC=41588 151.985

At the bottom of the event log window:
NEXEDGE48 Site:R13-36 RAN:36 NL:3 15

R13-15 neighbor: Site R13-25; CC=40676 150.845

That is good information. The small neighbor lists would seem to indicate they are just starting to build out the system to the east of Onondaga County. If you check neighbor lists periodically you may see some new sites appear as they are activated and then you can monitor the new site CC to see what it is. If it is a site number that is not from the old LTR-NET system, an FCC search for the observed site frequencies will usually be a strong clue to the location.

A few updates and an unknown:

Site R13-3; CC=42374 152.9675 Manlius <- New control channel
Site R13-48; CC=40694 150.8675 Pulaski?
Site R13-51; CC=41882 152.3525 Unknown <- Neighbor to the Pulaski (R13-48) site

I can't hear Site R13-51 from my location in Oneida County. Maybe someone to the west of me can listen for this site?

Site 48 frequency looks good for WQIS393 Pulaski.

Site 51 frequency appears to be WREZ333 Sandy Creek Middle School - Lacona, NY. Antenna is on school building so probably why you can't hear it. So, there likely is a TG for Sandy Creek CSD active on the system.

Good info have you submitted it?

What sites are on the Pulaski neighbor list?

BTW- I could not find the Sandy Creek frequency on the RRDB FCC search but FCC General Menu Reports shows the license was just issued a few days ago.

I haven't submitted the Pulaski site and will wait to confirm the other frequencies for the site. I'm on the fringe of their signal, so it may take some time for me (or others) to collect this information. It also helps if there are users on the system.

You are right - I can't hear anything in Northern Oswego County, so monitoring Sandy Creek is a nonstarter from home. I may have to take a ride up there sometime (weather permitting of course).

It is helpful to submit a site with only the Control Channel known since Nexedge 4800 is Direct Frequency Access and this is supported by Uniden scanners. The scanner, like subscriber radios, can track the site from only the CC data. Whistler scanners just scan for TGIDs so they do need all site frequencies to monitor the system.

It looks like Sandy Creek is just a fill-in site for the school area and Pulaski is the area's primary coverage. The Pulaski site license, WQIS693, also has another site at Dugway, NY. Dugway may not be active or it would likely be in the area site Neighbor Lists.

The Oswego site is too weak for me to get any decode so I wonder what their Neighbor List is.

This is the latest neighbor list from Pulaski. Note the addition of R13-9. This could be Rutland in Jefferson County. Unfortunately Tug Hill blocks my reception of everything up there.

R13-48 neighbor: Site R13-3; CC=42386 152.9825
R13-48 neighbor: Site R13-9; CC=40688 150.8600
R13-48 neighbor: Site R13-12; CC=42836 153.5450
R13-48 neighbor: Site R13-15; CC=41588 151.9850
R13-48 neighbor: Site R13-25; CC=40676 150.8450
R13-48 neighbor: Site R13-51; CC=41882 152.3525

This Site 9 gets a bit messy to confirm the present location. Site 9 is Rutland, NY on the old system and they have a license WPMY705 for the site that had added NXDN but not on 150.860. The frequency 150.860 is licensed for State St Hill in Watertown WQQA707 but not NXDN. I don't see any pending applications for either site. I also don't see any indication that State St Hill was another LTR-NET site.

The Mobiletech license for 150.860 at State St Hill is Class FB8 (exclusive use within a protected contour) and use at Rutland could still be within their licensed contour and NXDN is a narrower emission than analog so it may be legitimate for Mobiletech to use it at the Rutland site pending license modification. It is also possible they could be moving Site 9 from Rutland to State St Hill.

I can usually get occasional reception of the Watertown/Rutland, NY area with ducting conditions on the path over Lake Ontario but 150.860 is constantly occupied here by the Site 68 Williamson CC. There are apparently new NXDN sites in St Lawrence and Hamilton County but I have the problem with local area co-channel use on the possible frequencies blocking any chance of hearing those sites.
