Was not sure where to put this question but here goes. I’m interested in possibly trying to listen to a MotoTRBO(DMR) Trunked system but not sure what scanners are capable of MotoTRBO or if a MotoTRBO capable radio is possible to listen to a system as I assume it’s locked down with required radio IDs as a P25 TRS would be? What would be my best option? I have an anytone DMR radio and tried just putting the channels in and scanning but that’s never worked for it. I have a couple SDR dongles but they’re a pain to get all set up with the computer and def not mobile. Any suggestions?

You might possibly be able to scan a Con+ site conventionally by setting up two channel entries per frequency, one for each slot. You then scan all of the site's frequencies, and of course you have to add the "digital contacts" i.e. the talkgroups. It's a very hacky way to do it, but I've had some success doing it that way with my XPR 6550.

Like I said, it's very hacky, so if you don't do it exactly right it's never going to work. But yes, my XPR 6550 scans the OneVoice network sites in conventional mode, so it is doable with enough effort.

Thanks I’ll work on it a little more I guess. The upgrade for my 325P2 seems a little steep at 75$ just for DMR and prob have to pay for pro scan because I don’t think free scan does DMR at least not that I remember

$75? Where did you get that price? When I upgraded mine it was $60. I did it straight from Uniden. I think ScannerMaster and some other vendors charge you more.

$60 for less aggravation of fiddling with SDR software and it's a radio I can carry in my pocket. Well worth the money

You are paying the dealer for registering the scanner at Uniden, purchasing the key, and entering the key into the scanner. You can save some money by doing it yourself at my.uniden.com.
