Is 154.43000 the correct frequency for Monmouth County Fire dispatch? The RR database and another website lists the same frequency. It is also for FDNY EMS citywide and that seems to be the only transmissions I hear.

Thank you. I don't think my PRO-95 does PL tones. What you said does make sense as I did catch one transmission preceded by a tone that sounded like a dispatch to a Monmouth area location.

The PRO-95 DOES do PL. They probably call it CTCSS.

Mike - if the RS Pro-95 does PL/DPL decode then it must be a hidden
function because its not in the manual. Can you tell me how this is done on a Pro-95???

I looked over the manual and you're right, there is no mention of coded squelch which seems really strange. My old PRO-92 did PL and DPL programmable from the keypad.

I dont own a Pro-95 but I have prgrammed them in the past via software. If for some reason it wont allow you to program PL/DPL from the keypad you might want to try programming it from software.

A free-ware version is available here:

and the cable is pretty inexpensive from radio shack.

Just avoid any further confusion on this topic, the Pro-95 does not have CTCSS or DCS programming capabilities either manually or via software.

I stand corrected then. Sorry.

Still, that doesnt make any sense. You have a 1000 channel trunking scanner that doesnt do something as simple as PL/DPL?

Earlier models of the radio shack pro-series supported this.

I have software for my pro-2052 and it has a box for entering pl. Does this mean if i enter the pl in the box it will get programmed? I didn't think the 2052 was capable of pl.

I dont see any mention of PL/DPL in the user manual. For some earlier models you have to purchase an option board. That might be the case with this one.
