“EMS” I believe is BLS, while “MEDIC” or “MIC” is ALS.

Yes, EMS is their term for a contract BLS unit assigned to a town. They have numerous other BLS units doing non emergency transports that occasionally back up the EMS units. "900" series BLS units change constantly but are first to back up the EMS trucks when needed.

Medic refers to an ALS unit. I can't give you a complete list of what towns they cover but I can tell you where they're based.

EMS 4 & 5 Morristown

901/902 are correct.

They’ll transport to Chilton usually.

They also cover the immediate surrounding area. Ringwood, Wanaque, etc.

I've heard, but never physically seen, that ALS 902 is based out of Kinnelon Fire Company 1 up on Kiel Ave close to 23. They always do say "responding out of Kinnelon" so if it's not there it's somewhere else in Kinnelon.

It appears that the Atlantic EMTs were issued yellow Harris XG-75s. I wonder what their mobiles are?
Does anyone know what's happening to 155.175? I've caught some toneouts on it, but that's been it.

Yes, I believe 902 moves to Kinnelon for their shift.

As far as the radios go all if the units have Harris XL 200 radios. There are no mobiles in the trucks (at least not yet).

I am still hearing MICCOM dispatch Atlantic Units on one of the MICCOM talk groups.

Does anyone know if Altanitc EMS open there new communications center yet or
is MONOC still handling Atlantic EMS with there new Atlantic talk groups?

Thanks,

Tony

So Atlantic EMS units in Union, somerset and some Morris county downs are directly dispatched by MONOC control. Ems 1,2,3,4,5 inform Control via Push to talk services. Every medic unit but 901, 902, 906 are dispatched via MICCOM. If there is a job that would be within controls responsibility to dispatch they will call miccom and they will dispatch and 906 will communicate with control. MONOC has a contract with Atlantic till atleast the end of 2018.

Atlantic and MONOC have moved to NJICS from what I see. They do call the docs by phone when on scene. I no longer see them communicate by radio for patient status.

Something new popped up today, Med Central dispatched 901 into Irvington, along with several new RWJUH radio ID's.
