Was just listening online to Monroe County EMS dispatch and noticed what appears to be a change (to me) in some of the call signs for ambulances or fly cars. What are the units with designations such as "Car 74," or "89?" They don't seem to correlate to what the descriptions are on the wiki page for Monroe County ambulances (i.e. Those numbers appear to assigned to out-of-county or commercial ambulance services). It has been awhile since I've listened (my grandparents used to live in Henrietta) so I'm sure there are some changes :) Thanks.

You are listening to the Monroe Ambulance's repeater. They refer to their units (Ambulance or flycar) as "Car xx".

Monroe COUNTY refers to them as 9xx9.

Monroe Ambulance (company name) and Monroe County (municipality) are two different things...

This sounds spot-on! Monroe AMBULANCE uses the 4 digit county unit identifiers, and are 96x9, 97x9, 98x9, and 99x9 series in the system. So, if you hear "Car 71", that would be 9719. Single digit car numbers are used only on their frequency, with single digit (ie Car 4) being management and supervisors, and lower 2 digit numbers (ie car 30) identifying fly cars.
In Monroe County, when you hear a 9 as the last digit, it identifies that unit as an ambulance. Hope this helps!
