New at this so sorry if I posted improperly

Monroe County Missouri sheriff just switched to digital MOSWIN on or about October 22, I spoke with the dispatcher admin and asked him if they were going to be encrypted, he stated no that all I need was a P-25 capable scanner. so called to order and have two scanners set up, but the salesman looked up the needed data to do it and he said "looks like nobody has made a submission to RR in order to do it. question, is somebody here planning to do so. I am out in the country and the others around me depend on knowing what is going on around us, my goal is to get the proper information to help the others and myself get back what we lost.

What scanners did you order?

The county recently license a new conventional repeater. FCC Callsign WRWU475 (MONROE, COUNTY OF)
151.025 Repeater with 159.00 input (NFM only, not P25)

Yes, we have not received any submissions yet, hopefully a listener figures it out soon and lets us know.
Depends on if they go VHF like currently, or go 700/800 MHz.

These are the sites in the area Missouri Statewide Wireless Interoperable Network (MOSWIN) Trunking System, Statewide, Multi-State

I was just in the Hannibal area a few weeks ago, but did not do much MOSWIN listening.

I have not bought anything as the salesman at Scanner Master told me to wait until somebody here that knows how to collect the information dose so and submits it. My hope is some kind soul takes the challenge with the equipment they have ( all my old school rigs are old analog). thanks for the quick responses.

Some advice on purchasing a scanner:

Even though they are costly, you need to invest in one with the capability to receive DMR, NXDN, EDAS, ProVoice and P25 II.

Respectfully, this is not an accurate statement.

If the OP's monitoring targets are public safety entities he is fine without any of the upgrades you mention. P25 will be included in the scanner he will require. Further, in the case of Monroe County there are no DMR, NXDN, or (I believe you mean) EDACS systems at all. It appears the few DMR systems in the counties surrounding Monroe County are business based with one used for an Electrical utility. ProVoice is the digital element of EDACS. There will never be a new EDACS/ProVoice system built, and the upgrades offered by Uniden for those systems are available for those areas of the country that still have such systems in use.

Why is this guy from MA posting this in the MO forum? Because I'm the guy the OP talked with on the phone. I'm happy to see him post here and hopefully the database can get built out to help him make a decision as to what will best serve his needs.

It was only an opinion. I apologize.

Surely no need for that! I'm the first person to admit that all of my scanners have every optional upgrade, except for ProVoice. The beauty of those is that they can be added after the fact if the person wants to expand their monitoring and see what's out there above and beyond just public safety.

Back to the topic of the thread. Always good when users submit current and accurate data. Thanks.
