If any of you monitor Montco EMS frequencies/talkgroups here are some codes for patient condition:

Class 1 : Immediately Life Threatening
Class 2 : Potentially Life Threatening
Class 3 : Not Life Threatening
Class 4 : Psychiatric
Class 5 : Deceased

The EMS units give this infromation to the hospital during patient transport.

I got this info from an Montco EMT where I work.

"X" after any of the classes indicates a combative patient...needless to say you would never have a class 5X...Unless of course you're transporting a dead body posessed by demons...hey, it could happen!!

IIRC, quite a few of the counties use Class 1/2/3/4/5 codes for EMS calls. I think Philadelphia and Lancaster are others in this part of the state that use them. Some counties (Lehigh) use (A)lpha, (B)ravo, (C)harlie, etc. to prioritze responses, though I don't know Lehigh's class codes off-hand.
