Moorpark/Visallia Fire

Does anyone have any information about the brush fire burning in Moorpark? I have family that live near there and am an alumni of Moorpark College. My Family lives in the Avenidas De Los Arboles area of Thousand Oaks, but having lived in the area most of my life I have seen how a fire can start inland from the 101 Freeway and burn clear to PCH real quick. Any updates would be greatly appreciated.

Guiberson Fire

The fire near Moorpark is no where close to Visalia. Moorpark is in Ventura county and Visalia is in Tulare county. Here is a link to the Cal Fire information page: CAL FIRE - Incidents

Ooops. I meant Fillmore... It looks as if it has really grown though. How are the Santa Ana's right now? Sending prayers that way. These things are never good, I was hospitalized fighting a fire that started in Agoura and burned clear to Malibu many years ago...

The conditions have been bad, but that one hasn't been that destructive.

Neither Fillmore nor Thousand Oaks are in any kind of danger - Moorpark is in the clear as well.

As of this morning, there were approx. 1800 personnel assigned. By the time I left the office this afternoon, just about all forward spread had been stopped, with isolated runs or islands still smoking. That will go on for a couple of more days, but, for the most part, if conditions remain the same, this one is done by Saturday. All that will left is the mop-up.
