More LASD Frequencies for the DB

Seems the LACo Sheriff are doing a good job of utilizing an ever growing number of the counties pool of 470/480 frequencies.

This weekend we added several more to the Db.

476.0875 - 162.2PL - SUD Portable Repeater 2
478.8875 - 156.7PL - SUD Portable Repeater 3
486.6625 - 162.2PL - Downtown LA Stanley Mosk Superior Court simplex
483.7000 - 162.2PL - Downtown Clara Shortridge Criminal Justice Center Repeater
478.4875 - 107.2PL - First responder mutual aid 1 simplex
481.4875 - 127.3PL - First responder mutual aid 2 simplex
478.7250 - 146.2PL - First responder mutual aid 3 simplex
481.7250 - 293NAC - First responder mutual aid 4 simplex

I understand the new simplex first responder mutual aid frequencies are intended to be utilized by both Police and Fire agencies at incidents if required and used for multi-agency events.


If anyone is aware of any more new frequencies, or changes in existing ones, please send them in.
I suspect there might be some other use changes from what we have in the Db, as for example the 482.9625 was previously listed as LASD P25 Testing.

Missing from Db...

I've come to learn that there are several changes out there in LASD radio land.
Unfortunately was unable to ascertain frequencies to go along.

• There is a Tunnel Dispatch channel (we only have a Tunnel L-Tac in Db)
• There are 5 A-Tac's (we have 4 in Db)
• There is a single Simplex 1 - we show 2 in Db - 473.7875 and 478.8875
• There is a Simplex 4 and 5
• S-Tac are 30 in total - we show 29 in Db. Also several more S-Tac's are now repeater including a few that are only “local area” repeaters.
• Some of the colleges have, or about to receive repeaters – East LA, Mission, Southwest and West LA campuses
• Channel for Monterey Park Sheriff HQ for security and parking


If anyone can obtain the frequency details, please send them in...

Tunnel Dispatch is 453.625 CTCSS 136.5. I verified this while taking the Red Line in February from the North Hollywood station. There was a line of four deputies inside the station and my scanner echoed the same transmissions as from their radios.

When LASD implemented TSB dispatch, an MTA owned repeater in the tunnel was patched into Dispatch 35. 453.625 is still licensed to MTA, though utilized by deputy personnel.

Interesting that MTA also uses 453.625 above ground for security at facilities like bus depots. Guess the two don't interfere at all.

When I worked on the Vermont and Hollywood Red Line legs we installed Radiax cable in the tunnels and stations. Several frequencies were repeated down there. At that time LAPD had only one tac frequency active. The range underground is limited with the product. Plus there is almost nothing that makes it in or out of the stations when it comes to rf. Stations typically have 4-6 foot thick roof slabs with 10-20 feet of fill on top. Tunnels are 60-80 feet down...

I was using Mutual Aid 1 the other day and it had a tone of 186.2.

186.2 tends to be the standard repeater input PL for most LASD frequencies, but repeater output still CSQ for most channels.

Same 136.5 Its in the Db.

Depending on the facility it tends to be either a lower power repeater or simplex. MTA has several other such UHF frequencies they use around the county at their buildings, garages or yards.

In addition to the missing frequencies I believe we might not have in the Db as mentioned in Reply 2, I understand there are either 4 or 5 channels know as "PR" and possibly used for parking enforcement and other duties such as Sheriff HQ security.
