Will there be a new thread created ( Sticky??) for the new Morris County system? Now that they are building it out, things are going to start popping up and being discovered. Furthermore, is there a Morris County Phase 2 System being created in the Database?
It's the same system, they are simply adding a 700 MHz cell alongside the existing T-Band cell. When the 700 MHz site actually appears on the air, I will modify the current 4BA system to reflect that it is Phase II capable, and the site will be added, etc.

So the existing T-band frequencies will remain on the air and the 700 MHz frequencies will be added for additional capacity within the same coverage area?

Starting my search - Ugh! Also talked to a member of a MC squad and they were issued the new radios, so progress, not perfection.

FYI, the new Morris system is going to be P25 trunking Phase II (TDMA) and the implementation is scheduled to be in the first quarter of 2022.

All the new equipment is in, and took them less than 6 hours to disable our old radios from transmitting on the County system.

No new update on it going live. The new 700 MHz sites will not go live until all the sites are completed and coverage testing is complete.
So, don't hold your breath since it will take a while still.

As stated still the first quarter of 2022. A handful of departments still need to have the radios swapped/installed.

Ask 30 cars how they feel about the "upgrade" so far lmao. I'm sure they're counting down until everything is switched to 700.

I am reasonably certain of the following.

There are two sites on the present system that serve Long Hill. One that sits on top of the long ridge and looks nicely to the South and East. The other site is in Bernards, not far from center of Basking Ridbe.

Unless I missed something, I do not see provisions for these sites across the three new licenses.

I am also reasonably certain there is no CC activity ATT.

@r60

The existing UHF subsite in Long Hill will be replaced with a 700 MHz subsite 3.5 miles to the southwest on Mountain Rd in Somerset County. There will also be an additional 700 MHz subsite built in Potterville, also in Somerset County.

Neither of those two new subsites are licensed yet. The applications have been approved by Region 8 and are in the process of receiving adjacent region approval.

The other 12 700 MHz subsites will remain as they currently are on UHF. The system will expand from 13 UHF subsites to 14 700 subsites.

As @RocketNJ stated, there is no 700 MHz control channel on the air, and won't be for a while.

That info is very cool, thanks!
