Yep the best scanning cities in the South:

Greater Memphis Area (Can't currently hear MPD), Nasheville, Knoxville, Atlanta, Little Rock/NLR, Jackson, MS, B'Ham, Charlotte, Asheville, Columbia, Myrtle Beach, Greater Charleston Area, The greater NOLA Area (cant hear NOPD anymore). Anyone have any others?

The most calls...

Have to agree with some of the previous posts:

Full Moon
Fridays and Saturdays between 1800 and 0300 hrs.
Bad Weather of any kind.....

.....and one I don't recall seeing here:

Any holiday that involves families getting together. In 13 years of dispatching I can always count on at least 1 domestic/restraining order call every Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. In addition, you can count on plenty of drunk/disorderly calls on Memorial Day and Labor Day.

I guess you can call it job security.......

This is going to sound crazy but, it was a full moon last night. 1-26-05, there was a shooting at NJAP. (North Jeep Assembly Plant) in Toledo. Three people were shot and the gunman later killed himself. Maybe the superstition is true... :shock:

Here in Jacksonville, NC if you place a dusting of snow on the ground you cannot get enough radios to monitor the traffic. Snow here equates to Wrecks, so many that they usually run out of Paramedic units and put the volunteer BLS units on Standby as well as neighboring counties!

Friday and Saturday nights are always busy here in Richmond. Just heard a foot chase.....Good guys 1, bad guys 0!

And to think it's Thursday and 20 degrees outside...... :lol:
