• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi All

I am just after getting a DM3600/XPR4550 and I have a issue. I am using it for DMR on a simplex gateway, If I just monitor 2 stations talking it works perfect, If I join in the conversation when I unkey I miss the first 2 or 3 seconds of the next guys transmission, everyone is supposed to leave a gap in the system and they do appear to but for some reason my radio seems to be taking a long time to go back to receive, I can see the person transmit on the gateway dashboard and I can see the signal on the radio, but it just takes a couple of seconds for the audio to pass, I have searched in Google and all over the codeplug but can't see a setting that fixes this, My Anytone HT does not have this issue,

As an example, on BM if I key TG4000 to unlink a TG when I get the automated reply I only hear the "ED" at the end I miss the "UNLINK" part,

Thanks
Trevor

It's actually "NOT LINKED" that is transmitted Sorry

Anyone any idea ???

Did I do something wrong here, why is no one answering me???

Surely someone has an idea what could be wrong??

We(RR users) don't have an idea. If someone knew, they would answer. We aren't geniuses and sometimes problems are so unique that we don't have a clue.

The call hang time is probably set to high. Change it to 2 seconds or less.

Under general settings, you should see a setting called "call hang time" = it's generally set for 3 seconds standard. It could also be the subscriber on the other end has their radio set to keep the channel busy just a little too long.
