• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

We are going to need more information. What is the frequency? Is it analog (wide or narrow) or DMR? What radios have you had success with, and which ones have you not had any luck?

He's trying to program analog 853.4 875 into the 800/900 version of xpr, I don't recall the model. It programs other 800/900 freqs, just not that one. It's not a wide/narrow issue.

There are a couple of fequencies in that radio that it wont take. I am not sure if its a CPS issue or something else. We never found a way around it.

Its not that, there were a couple of legit frequencies that we found go red when entered in a 7580. 852.3125 and 852.7625 were two of them.

Why is it just those specific ones? i could put in other 852.xx without issue and those are valid FCC channels.
FCC Channel 100 and 134 respectively

EDIT: I just checked and I have that entitlement and it still errors out on those channels. The mystery continues.

Has anyone noticed Mototrbo refusing to program a specific simplex frequency, while having no problem programming others in the same band? Any way around it?
You are finding out that Motorola is ****ed in the head, thinking they can dictate to its end users.

DMR subscribers and repeaters in the 800MHz band won't do the NPSAC(or what ever they are called) frequencies, because Motorola, decided that they won't allow it. This is to force their customers to higher tier P25 radios.

I ran into this many years ago when we wanted to replace our system with DMR. I thought Motorola had un-fubared that a long time ago because even they realized how stupid it was?

Are those "self quieting" frequencies?

The Canadian EID bypasses that. Got it from a Canadian dealer.
