They are on the Statewide VIPER System along with Surry County.

I have a BCD996XT how can I program the Viper System to it. Ive really not touched a scanner in 15 yrs until now so really lost

While not a step by step answer, I would suggest using PC software to program the scanner, and download direct from the Radio Reference database to save a lot of manual entry work. Many have good luck with Free Scan. Search on the groups here for more details. A RR subscription is needed for the download to work.

There are about 4 or 5 (VIPER) sites in and around Surry Co that you should put into your scanner along with all the Surry Co talkgroups that you may want to monitor. These can be found in the database in NC section and under Surry Co listings of Viper....County Fire and EMS and Sheriffs Dept are also still on Vhf 150 mhz frequencies too....
