For the HAM Radio, I was wondering if the Larsen Motorola round magnetic mount,Larsen Amateur Mobile Antenna Mounts NMOMM, NMOMMR, NMOTLP, NMOK, TLM, will work on the Comet B10, Comet B-10: Ham & Amateur Radios - Equipment, Parts and Supply | AES. I'm thinking it should. Maybe I need the NMO version of the Comet.

I'm also thinking about for a scanner antenna use the Comtelco All-Band Low-Profile Mobile Antenna with the corresponding trunk lip mount, NMO Trunk Lip Mount.

The Comet B-10 antenna will not fit on the Larsen NMOMMR mount because the round mag-mount is a NMO connection and the Comet antenna is a UHF connection. So you are correct in assuming that you need a NMO antenna.

I don't have the Comtelco scanner antenna so I can't say how good it is, or not.

Yup, if its a NMO antenna it will work.

Look at the Comet CA 4X4 antenna with the NMO mount, it's a fantastic antenna. It's made for EMCOMM work and is very wide banded, so radio's with frequencies close to the regular VHF/UHF antennas will still have a decent SWR.
If you don't mind drilling a hole in the roof and putting an NMO mount on the roof, you will pick up about 2 "S" units more signal. It will make a big difference in the range, and the 4X4 antenna is the best mobile antenna I've ever used. Being in SKYWARN, it would be the ideal antenna for the good work that you do. Check out it's rating on EHam, people love them. When you go to sell, you just put a cap in the hole, it hardly shows at all. The antenna that you picked out will not have the range the 4X4 will or the adjustability.
