I recently bought a D220R and have been looking to mount it outside. I’m in an apartment, so can’t mount it on a pole in the ground, nor can I drill into the brick. But there is a 5.5”-wide leg supporting a deck above my porch.

Any suggestions for mounts? I figure I need at least 3.5” of clearance for the lower elements, so most of the premade brackets won’t work.

Lower elements doesn't work as they do on a "normal" antenna. You can have them close to objects and metal but as always with antennas they need to have a clear view to the signals. You can use a mount that sticks out between the lower elements.

Should have been clearer - not concerned about any issues with the mount touching elements. It’s just that the elements would be bent in if I don’t have enough clearance.
