I don't know why, but I want to upgrade from my RS Pro-106, and I am thinking long term, and looking at the Uniden BCD325P2. I see this model is good for phase 2, so I figured if I was buying new, might as well have the latest. Is there any substantial advantage to upgrade to the Uniden now? My pro 106 works fine, and if I won't gain a lot, I may just hold off. I live in Virginia and a digital trunking scanner is fine for my area.

Should I wait?

If you're happy....

If you're happy with your RS Pro-106 and don't have any P25-P2 systems in your area, I'd hold off buying one. But, it's your money and if you just want one, go ahead and get it! In full disclosure, I just purchased a BCD325P2 and have been enjoying it...but really didn't need it! ;)

I'm here a lot
The radio only uses 2 batteries, so which ever kind you use, make sure they are of good quality or at least keep some spare regular ones so you won't be left high and dry.

"K9JDN" do you monitor Starcom with your new scanner the 325P2 and wonder how it tracks the system....I don't think you have any PhaseII there as yet to see how that part works...TY

I do monitor Starcom21 freqs. None of the ones I monitor are Phase II. Honestly, I don't notice any difference between the 325P2 and my 396XT. Both do a fine job with a RS-800Mhz antenna, IMHO.
