mpscs tower questions

im looking for a map of the mpscs tower i found this

are these the locations of the actual radio towers? are there more unlisted locations / repeaters?

P25 800 Systems don't use repeaters.

Thats tower (antenna) locations for the system not including simulcast systems in Genessee, Detroit and Macomb

do you know where i can find the tower locations for the simulcast sites?
does each tower on the simulcast site broadcast the same frequencies?

Yes all sites use all of the frequencies assigned. Go to the simulcast in the database on this website. Click on it (i.e. Genesee County Simulcast) . Then click on the callsign and it will show all of the tower locations.

Yup - all the sites are well documented here in the database.

Keep an eye out on the forums, though, for a Google Earth file that I'm in the process of making. The file will have every tower and simulcast site, with tower numbers, lat/lon, call sign, control channel freq's, etc...all precisely placed on the map. Those areas with higher resolution you can clearly see the actual tower.

I'll post the file here when I'm done. As you can imagine, it's taking a long time to do 200+ towers!

macomb county is listed as a Ten-site simulcast system but there are only 6 tower listed on the map?
if i enter the control tower frequency i will hear all the traffic on all the towers on that system right?

...im just trying to figure on a way to monitor state police in the metro detroit area (wayne/macomb/oakland). i am thinking about programming the control tower freqs. of the counties i am in and the state police talkgroups into 1 bank and i should hear all the msp traffic right?

Do you have Radio Shack Pro2096 or Pro96?

Think of the new P-25 system like a cellphone system. If another agency uses the same control frequncy as your local tower you will pick up their system too if you are in "ID Search" or "Open" mode depending on which scanner you have(Uniden or GRE).

I have a new Pro 2096 and was wondering how to program the talkgroup id's into it. The manual states to press the trunking button to locate them, but no go. I am specifically looking for Macomb County. Thanks

I'd strongly suggest you purchase a programming cable, and download Don Starr's WIN96 software. You will sleep better and stop kicking your dog!
