Hey Guys, hopefully ya'll can lend me a hand.

I have a Pro-96, and one of the agencies is in progress of switching to a UHF Digital Trunked system.

I use The Starr96 programming tool, and I know the step/base/offsets for both tables.... but my question is this.

On the multi-table screen, what do I put in the spots that say "ChHI" and ChLO"??? I am not able to track this system as others have, and think this may be my problem.

So, what do you put in these slots to make the system scan???

Thanks a mil.

Your master site
For the first range (base & spacing) set ChLO to 380. ChHI would be set to one-less-than the second range's ChLO. ChHI for the second range would be 759 (the last range ChHI will always be this for 3600).

If your offset for the second range is 560 then the first range would have ChHI as 559.

=)

Been scanning for years, never been this confused, can you elaborate.... or perhaps... simplify???

Wayne's answer is good, if you are talking about a Motorola Smartnet/Smartzone system. If the digital system being installed is an APCO25 (Project 25) system, then that won't work at all. If in fact it is a 9600 kbs control channel system, then you will have to find out what table(s) they are using and determine the values based on that. Since you are using a Pro-96, this is quite easy by using the Pro96Com software available both in our download area and at the Pro96Com Yahoo group.

Oh crap, I spoke too soon.... it apparently wasnt retard-proof enough...

The system I am hoping to track has the following base/step/offset:

469.050/12.5/380
479.5375/12.5/380

When I plegged in the numbers ya'll gave me, it still wont track, can someone specifically tell me what CHHi and CHLo settings I would have to use in Win96 to get this mutha f'er to track it???

Sorry for the confusion, I really am not toooooo much of a moron, but this here UHF trunking has me all confused.

The 380 offset for the second table is incorrect. Both tables in a single system must have different offsets, the second table would normally be 1 channel higher then the Ch Hi of the first table (noted earlier by Wayne H).

What system are you attempting to program?

The system is brand new, not really online yet and still in testing phase.

It is the Pomona, CA system of the ICIS network.

Are you certain that base offset is wrong, it was what was given to me.

So, what do I input now?

This ICIS page has different base values then yours but the 380 offset for table 1 is normal. The second offset isn't available, thus will need to be found via other methods, one would be with Pro96Com software, which is free and can be downloaded from the software area in RR Wiki .

Pro96Com will not gather data from a 3600 bps control channel. Trunker, Treport, or Unitrunker should log channel numbers.

The database lists five sites and each one seems to need only one table entry. Burbank and Pomona should work with base 470.0125, 12.5, 380. The others should work with 480.5, 12.5, and probably also 380. That is, if the database is correct.

<blush>!! Thanks for the reminder pro92b. I agree, if the first tables are correct on the RR ICIS page, those settings may be the only table needed.

iepokerEnter the table in the upper right corner of Win96 and select Custom Table under Mot 3600 CC, save and load to scanner.
or
Using the scanner keys, setup as follows:
1. Press PGM
2. Press TRUNK
3. Press FUNC + 2
4. Key in the Base freq then ENTER
5. Key in the 3 digit Offset then ENTER
6. Using the up/down, find the correct Step on line 4, then ENTER
7. Press FUNC + 3 for 3600
8. Using the up/down, find the correct setting on line 4, usually Table, then ENTER
Press SCAN

Some guys in the 'CA Forum' who have unitrunkered the system came up with the numbers for the really, really, new Pomona system... some of the info on the ICIS page is wrong.... for instance the CC has been on 470.025 for the past week or so. I only trusted their numbers based on past good intel... but they use the Uniden unit, and have no clue on multi-tabling my unit. They have successfully tracked the system on the uniden with the numbers I provided... but the two freqs that are 482 as opposed to the 470 range have so far been inactive, and the system could conceivably be tracked using one table, I just wanted to do it right so if the channels became active it would be seamless.

By far, the most confusing thing I have encountered in years f doing this, but technology is advancing yada yada. After 13 posts I still dont understand it =). I will plug in pro92b's numbers and give it a swirl, let you know tomm.

....again, thanks a bunch.

I took a look at the thread you mentioned and if the info there is correct, you will ultimately need two table entries for Pomona. There isn't enough data to determine exactly where the transition point is between the two tables, but that isn't critical. The highest 470 MHz channel number is 464 and the lowest 482 MHz channel number is 580 (482.0375 from RR database). The mid point is 521 so we can choose that as the table transition point. Then frequencies from 469.05-470.8125 will be covered by table 00 and 481.3125-484.275 are covered by table 01. If the system ever adds a frequency outside those ranges, the transition point will need to be adjusted.

Here are the table entries to try

table 00: 380 521 469.0500 380 12.5
table 01: 522 759 479.5375 380 12.5

These entries go in the MOT 3600 CC -> Extended Tables window

If you know new data, please submit it to the Admins on the database page. Then next time we can better assist when ask. Also, CC's do change.

This is how you may want to set the two tables using the suggestion by pro92b.

Uh - the second entry will have no effect, since the channel numbers specified in CH Hi and CH Lo are the same as the first entry. The PRO-96 will look through the entries, searching for the first entry whose [CH Lo .. CH Hi] range contains the target channel number. It will always stop on the first entry.

Given pro92b's (edited) post above, it looks like row 0's CH Hi should be 521, and row 1's CH Low should be 522. pro92b's base frequencies also differ from the graphic above.
