What you can do is use this to drive your existing relay, and leave the rest of your stuff in place. If you wanted to get fancy, you could ~probably~ desolder that screw terminal connector and use the screw terminals underneath. Or, get some wire furrels Robot Check
and see if that will work. While it doesn't magically shrink the wire, it does make the connection a bit easier.

Hmm, I didn't think of using it to run the relay, good idea. That would probably make the install a lot quicker.

So I did use it to run relay, is this correct:

SPST Switch
-
Power = 12V Constant
- Load = To IGN input on timer

Timer
-
GRD = Ground to body
- +BAT = From PIN 87 on the relay (Currently the 12V to the fuse block)
- +OUT = To the distribution fuse block

If that is right both the +BAT and +OUT would still be the 8 gauge wire.

I will probably give them a call on Monday as well to see if I can swap it out for the model with the screw terminals. If I can make the relay setup work I would rather do that.

Also, who makes good connectors for the terminal block on the timer?

After looking this over I just bought one on Ebay for $15 including shipping.

Not quite.
Feed power direct from the battery to the Battery in on the timer. Use the output from the timer to drive the relay coil.
Ground goes to chassis ground
Ignition sense connection would come from your ignition power source. You can also feed it with full time 12 volts from your momentary switch to trigger the time without starting the engine.

Got it. I ended up buying the other timer model with the screw terminals. It should be here later in the week and hopefully I can get everything installed over next weekend.

Good deal.
After PRCGUY's post, I went on line and found several of them in the $20 range. I think I've got 3 more on the way for my stash.

They look so close to each other, I think there's a good chance of interaction between the two antennas (problem #1) and (problem #2) being located where they are it looks like they're mounted so low there's a good chance the vehicle body can cause a signal shadow. Does your Jeep have a permanent roof they could be mounted to? Or, failing that, a roll-bar?

Go back and read the whole thread, it's all already been asked/answered.

While my radios will cutoff as needed, I have ancillary things that require a switch. I probably should purchase another for whatever else at that price, or three. 15 Amps is good enough for 50 watts and under.

Between all of us we probably bought up the stock on eBay. The guy I bought mine from shipped it the next day and it should be here on Thursday.

If work would slow down I could get started on installing the COMPACtenna.. I'm ready to see how it performs once I get it mounted and can test it out.

I like that COMPACTenna when a ground plane is not available. It is impressive how well it works on a non typical mount point, or just hanging in the air.

P.S. I got the eBay seller to throw in another NIB Lind for $10 and ship it with the other one. A fine day.

Good to hear it. That is pretty much my mounting situation as well which in on top of the rear spare tire carrier. PRCguy mentioned the testing that he did with the COMPACTenna so after reading that and discussing it with the folks on this thread it sounded like a good option. So thanks to you for contributing to the testing as well.
