I am currently running a stream with RASPI and RTL-SDR dongle running airband that is monitoring one frequency.

I would like to have it listen to two frequencies, one being the alert frequency and the other being the dispatch frequency.

Can this be done with one dongle or will a need to get another SDR? Or is there a different software I can use? I would prefer to continue to use my raspberry pi as it does not have much of an impact on the utility bill.

Thanks!

are the frequencies separated by more than the bandwidth of your RTLSDR?

you can scan with your single device, but you will miss things.

They are roughly 3mhz apart. 151.025mhz and 154.175mhz

Two RTL-SDRs would be the easiest (taking your experience into account).

Run them off an externally powered hub, raspi's tend to have power stability issues with hungry devices, and you might end up chasing reliability concerns in the long run.

two simple instances of rtl_fm are a walk in the park for a raspi.
