I noticed that multiple ID’s show up on a frequency on P25 mode and it’s cutting out audio. The signals are fairly strong (around 3 to 5 bars) and 3 different ID’s show up. What exactly is this and how can I resolve it?
(If this helps any, my firmware version is 1.06.00)

Hi cole
Welcome to RadioReference.

Can you advise which frequency and system this is happening on? A link to the database page where the system is found would be helpful, as well as some idea about your location. City, or county, and state is sufficient detail

You only need the control channel frequency and alternates. They are red and blue in the Radio Reference database. Montgomery Co simulcast control channel is 853.8375. There is only 1 alternate frequency. That is 853.575. Those are the only 2 frequencies you need to enter, You can get rid of the remainder. All of the frequency information for a P25 system is transmitted on the control channel. Are you using programming software or entering manually from the keypad? As hiegtx says, this is a trunking system. The frequencies must be entered in the Montgomery Co site, not as conventional frequencies.

@hiegtx I’m near Willis,TX and trying to add a frequency for Montgomery county simulcast. The frequency is 853.8375 MHz and I miscalculated how many channels there are, it’s about 20.
It says the site ID is 01A7H-0151.
Tx Warn (under Montgomery county Simulcast)
Do you have that site programmed as part of the TXWARN trunked system, or just added the frequencies as individual, conventional, channels. Are you talking UID's (user IDs) or Talkgroup IDs showing up?

I’m manually entering from the keypad only because the drivers from uniden doesn’t work.

I think only the TGID shows up.
I just added frequencies as one system.

If you don't have 853.8375 entered yet, you don't have a control channel and that would explain why you skip around to all of the frequencies you have entered. What software do you have?

None right now. I can’t enable the driver from unidenman because either there’s a coding error or it’s not being accepted by microsoft 10. Then I guess the power output by my USB isn’t high enough because as soon as I turn it on when plugged into the computer, the scanner shuts off.

Are you talking about the Serial port driver? (a copy is attached)
You need to extract the items in the zip file to a folder on your hard drive. Then, plug in the cable to the scanner & your PC. If Windows does not find them, and asks where they are, browse to where ever you saved the extracted files & click on one of them. You can use WinZip or the free 7-Zip to extract the contents.

I think only the TGID shows up.

Since you added from the keyboard, it sounds like you may have entered the frequencies as a Conventional system. TXWARN needs to be programmed as a Trunked system, and those frequencies would be entered as a Site in the TXWARN system.

So should I just delete the system that I added and start over by programming it in with my computer?

That's what I'd do.

If you are using FreeSCAN, you can use the EZ-Grab option to import data from the database into the software. A user guide for FreeSCAN is in the Wiki. You can download the software here.

If you have good batteries in the scanner, it will continue to operate when you plug the USB cable into the scanner. While in the Device Manager, you should see Ports (COM & LPT). When that is open, you should be Uniden Serial Port (COM#). COM# depends on which USB port you are plugged into.

Well I wish I could but it doesn't turn on even with brand new AA batteries (alkaline or Ni-Mh).
It only turns on when plugged into a wall outlet.
