Most got converted to P25 and are not mixed mode, staight P25 - but Yup, still tied into the dial tone networks

Would love to find a directory of the North East sites, there was one from the 80's on the net, for AZ/NV years ago

so the NRCS system uses a 125 watt Quantar repeater that will accept analog or P25 and is usually tied to a POTS line. Enven though it is a "FAA" repeater, it is open by default so other agencies regularly use. It definitely will not be what you are use to on the air bands. Think more along the lines grease monkies, techs work ILS problems, someone polishing a lightbulb. Or you have been listening to CBP/TSA. Like I stated before, they are wide open.

I believe she gets a strong signal, and I am located between her and JFK and get a weak signal so it makes sense. Maybe someone with in range of Bradly could punch in the freqs and see what's up?

In my monitoring experience the FAA went P25 10-15+ years ago
I've not found Hartford to be active, but TF Green in RI is on the same Freq

Makes me wonder if FAA Hartford in CT changed to P25 and that's what we are both picking up because its clear we are both receiving the same thing based on rid. I believe she gets a strong signal, and I am located between her and JFK and get a weak signal so it makes sense. Maybe someone with in range of Bradly could punch in the freqs and see what's up?

trying to remember your radio display

Grp could be TalkGroup, but most of what I see for the FAA is TG: 1
or these could be Radio ID's [RIDs]

Be Snarky back to the Children, they were rookies at this once before
and need to be more of an ELMER - that said there is nice feature here
on RR, that lets you flag someone to IGNORE - works rather well

This is how my display reads out different frequency than we are discussing
but that is the Icom R8600 readout...73,s Marcy

I just looked thru my rids and I have a ton of 671xxxx labeled as seen on 408.2 nac 270 and they were Fed Protection Service. I live near fed court house and received without an antenna. While I don't have 6716994 logged, my FPS rid's do range from the lowest of 6711804 to the highest of 6755148. The 6716994 you logged fits right in. What's interesting is that your getting the rid's in the 671xxxx range with a 201 nac and the rid's I have in the 671xxxx range are 270 nac.

Dave I normally get 270 on there....just once in a awhile I will get 201 but not often just happened
when I did the screenshot 201 popped up!

The 6716994 is the transmitting radio's id.
The ->1 is the talk group.

That's one cool radio you have.

When you see radio id's, you can visit this page and sometimes based on the rid, get an idea what agency it is. Federal P-25 Radio Identifications

I guess it does?, cause I was monitoring 170.550 NAC:167 and the numbers were rapidly
changing as the transmissions were taking place...another day another thing learned!

And keep in mind (lesson of the day) if you see anything other than 337xxxx for that favorite $167 agency, you are hearing it from other than NY

301xxxx would be radios assigned/issued thru the Boston Field Office, and since Boston handles, ME/MA/NH/RI - yes

RID of 653xxxx or NAC of $653 ??
IF RID we would need to know what Freq and NAC - At this time there is no common
uniformity for RID's with Federal agencies, only within Federal Agencies do we see "some" patterns

The NAC of $653 has been observed in use by multiple agencies
