NAC codes on trunking voice channels?

Guys,

I was playing around with my 500 last night, using the TUNE mode to manually monitor some of the voice frequencies of the two nearest digital trunk systems.

What I found interesting was that when the frequency passed audio, the screen alternated between the frequency & "P25: 115". Do digital trunk systems send NAC data out on the voice channels?

The other one close to me that's encrypted on PD ops 100% of the time behaved similar. I was getting '122' on that one...

Yes, P25 trunked systems use NACs.

NAC Codes

Where I live different towers in the same system send different NAC codes. You may want to see what the pattern is in your area.
