Hey @tazluv690 it’s Paul from Facebook. This is a much easier place to get what you need done, the people here are amazing.
I use freescan to program via my subscription to RR. The scanner community does an awesome job of keeping it up to date.
Be advised the Wake County system is simulcast and may cause issues depending on your location. Also, noting you are in Fuquay, the PD has switched to encryption and can no longer be heard.
I have never had simulcast issues in Wake County. NC VIper and Cary/Wake P25 are available near Fuquay. There are tons to listen to in this part of the county (south of the beltline). Then again I am not a self proclaimed NC scanner authority either, nor do I care to be.
What would be the best and easiest way for me to help him out? Program an SD card for what he wants and give it to him? He and I have been taking on FB and I directed him here because I know we will totally get him squared away.

So you think that the BCH536PH will work great for my area? Yes I live in Willow Spring just outside of Fuquay Varina just this side of harnett and Johnston Co.I love listening to sheriff shp and ems talking to the hospitals. Especially the life flights.

I have a 325p2 which is the handheld equivalent.
The BCD325P2 is the handheld equivalent of the BCD996P2, not the BCD536HP.

As others have said, It should work pretty well. The Cary/Wake P25 system is simulcast so you could have some issues with multipath distortion. You should be good to go to listen to SHP, air ambulances, and EMS>Hospital communications on the VMN.
** Harnett Co is on VIPER and you should have no problems with that
** Johnston Co has there own Phase 2 system
** Wake Sheriff is on SITE 2 of the Cary/Wake P25 system (depending on location simulcast could be an issue)
** SHP, EMS to Hospital, and Life Flights are all on VIPER which should have no problem.
what would be the easiest way for me to program this for him? Sentinel?
I do not have Uniden scanners, sorry, so I'm not sure.
@tazluv690 do you need help programming this scanner? Are you able to download Sentinel and download what you need?
I can watch YouTube on how to do just that. I also still have ProScan installed on my laptop.

What towers would you program in to listen to Harnett County VIPER system if you live in Holly Springs?
I know Johnston County is difficult to hit in Holly Springs. The traffic is hit or miss.
