Some of you may have already seen the call out for Volunteers for this large scale exercise in the DFW Metro area.
I thought I would provide a little insight, and give everyone a heads up to get those antennas tuned up, Interop frequencies and talkgroups loaded.
We might be able to glean a few new talkgroups or freqs. out of this exercise.

"Resolution Authorizing Agreements with Site Host Entities for Metro X
Board authorization was requested to enter agreements with entities that have agreed to serve
as site hosts for Metro X chosen based on facility availability and scenario suitability. NCTCOG
is planning a large-scale regional exercise called Metro X, scheduled for October 2025. This
multi-day event will simulate a Complex Coordinated Terrorist Attack (CCTA) to test regional
emergency response capabilities and identify improvement areas. The Olson Group Ltd has
been hired to facilitate the exercise, which will involve various disciplines, including emergency
management, law enforcement, fire, medical, intelligence, and communications. Scenarios will
range from structural collapse and explosions to active shooter events and mass casualty
incidents. Each participating entity will be responsible for its own costs and liabilities."

🚨 Help us exercise our first responders! The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is seeking 200–250 volunteers to participate in MetroX, a regional full-scale exercise on October 27–29, 2025.
👥 Roles include:
Disaster Victims
Spectators
Hostages
Supporting Volunteers (Scanners, Runners, etc.)
📍 Multiple locations across North Texas
🍽️ Lunch provided
👨👩👧 Ages 14+ (with guardian) or 18+ individuals welcome!
📝 Sign up by August 29, 2025 at 5 PM:
