It would appear that the name NWIN is becoming deprecated?

Its been a while since an NWIN meeting:
Planning for Nebraska -- Homeland Security and Interoperable Communications

One member of the NWIN board has retired (1/2 way down the page; find Ted Blume):
Game and Parks Insider | NEBRASKAland Magazine - Page 9

The Intent to Participate document dated (02/16/2012) shortly before the last NWIN meeting (02/24/2012) refers to the system as the Nebraska State Radio System (SRS).
http://www.homelandplanning.nebrask... SRS Intent to Participate rev Feb16-2012.pdf

From what I understand, no one internally refers to the system as NWIN, nor has for some time. Everyone makes reference to the SRS or NSRS.

NWIN and NCOR are mereged into NPSCC

This took away a lot of the "power" that NWIN thought it had. As they were conflicting with DHS, some Federal, and State laws concerning the use and governance of Interoperability Frequencies. The NCOR board was unhappy with the NWIN board, so there was so internal discourse. It got to the Governor, and he decide to clean up the mess. Hence the two previous orders that were rescinded.

I'm gonna be in Lincoln in a couple of weeks.
Is there anything to listen to that's NOT on the Lincoln / Lancaster County Trunked System?
I thought I'd bring my Non-Trunked Scanner with me because it's easier to program on the fly............
Anything Conventional UHF / VHF / OR Low-Band ? ? ?

Lancaster rural fire is 800mhz conventional and fire paging in VHF.

State patrol is now on VHF P25 trunked but may have some activity on their lowband.

That is all public safety I can think of on conventional systems.
