The voice side is suppose to be completed by the end of the year (2010). They are running into problems mainly linking and various others. The state has received letters from the FCC warning that if the state doesn't get some sites completed or request and extension they will loose some of the license.
Mainly Nebraska government agencies are going to be the main users. Local governments do have the option to use the system.
I can see most local governments only using the system for mutual aid/interop not daily use.
I noticed in the database, that this system is linked in some way to the OPPD/Orion network. What is the reasoning behind this? I ask, because I can see that system information in the db just getting huge. Orion is fairly large now as it is, would it not be more prudent to list the systems separately?
