• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have a VHF CDM1550-LS I'm trying to program for a friend. If I make any changes to the codeplug I read from it, I get the usual field errors. If I start removing the errors, eventually I get more errors, but they throw the error of "Field not found". Basically I'm looking for a factory default codeplug that I can write to the radio and "start over" with.

Thanks!

I have posted this info many times before, but...

You already have what you seek.

Look in the samples folder where your CPS program files reside on your computer. There is a sample codeplug for each and every model number of the Professional Series. It is a single personality codeplug ready for your customizing.

Search tags: The Professional or Waris
Series of radios includes:

HT750 HT1250 HT1550
EX500 EX600 EX560 EX650 PR860
CDM750 CDM1250 CDM1550
HT1250LS+ CDM1550LS+ CDM1550LS

It may be helpful to search using wildcards.
If someone asks a question about one model,
the answer usually pertains to most, if not all.
They are all programmed with HVN9025 CPS.

So create a 1 channel simplex codeplug in the software, and write it to the radio.
Like Steve says, this is pretty much what you are going to find, when you look at the sample codeplugs that came with your software.

Thanks! I don't frequent this forum much anymore, so I'm sorry if I missed you posting this in the past. I'll check this out when I get home.
That's why the forum has a search function. I just looked back and found a thread in which I answered the same question less than two weeks ago.
