so you have an audio cable running from the headphone out on the scanner to either the mic or some sort of audio in on the PC? on my 396T I found the volume level of 7 to be about right.

When putting the ip address in the server software do you use the 192.168.X.XXX or do you use the ip address issued from the no-ip account? never mind found the answer posted by gommert

- connect the Speaker output to the soundcard Line input.

- swicth on PC speakers are verify you hear the scanner audio (adjust scanner volume) , do not use the scanners RECORD output.

- start Eazystream server, check the correct sound device is selected

- click audio setup and make sure Line Input is selected and slider is at 50-70%

This should start the audio stream.

internal IPs do not have to be in the range listed above. internal IPs can be any of the ones below:

10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255
172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255
192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255

i guess that explains no audio, i dont have anything hooked up exept the data usb cable to the scanner. i thought the sound came thru that cable also.
i am using a laptop. i need to go and buy a cable with mono male on each side right?

i still need to know what to put in the ip/dns line? right now it is browardscanner.no-ip.info is this right? when i click on the no ip in task bar that is what is in the window.

Check the eazystream server manual that came with the software, it has a checklist of all the steps setting up the server including a cable wiring diagram.

The IP/DNS is what you selected when you subscribed to no-ip.com and clients must use this to connect, in your local network the client must use the 192.168.x.x ip address.

Also read the section about opening/routing ports.

We are here to help you but the fact that you must connect a cable from the scanner to the soundcard is clearly described in the manual including wiring details so I'm a bit surprised you missed that.

i know what i did, when i clicked it the client directions downloaded instead of the server, so it said audio cable optional.

but i have fixed that, i still have problems with port settings because it still does not work outside of the local network. that is where i need the help now.

when i go to my router it has applications and gaming tab then it has these options
port range forwarding port triggering upnp forwarding dmz

which one do i change and what do i change it too?

I can only give general guide lines since there are many different routers/modems:

In the router/modem setup look for 'NAT' 'NAPT' or 'Open ports' and open ports 8100 + 8101 TCP protocol so they are open for the outside world.

Next the router must know to which PC it must route the eazystream traffic at ports 8100/8101, look for 'Applications' or 'port routing' and enter the Local Ip address of your server PC (192.256.x.x) so all eazystream traffic is send to that PC.

Sounds like you may have a Linksys router?

On the Port Range Forward page, I created an entry

Application=Butel
Start=8100
End=8101
Protocol=Both
IP Address=(the LAN IP of the computer running the server software)
Enable= checked

On the Port Triggering Page I entered
Application=Butel
Triggered Start=8100
Triggered End=8101
Forwarded Start=8100
Forwarded End=8101
Enable=Checked

No changes to the DMZ page, and mine doesn't have UPNP settings.

that is what my settings are, internet comes in via cable modem into my friends apt upstairs then goes into the linksys wrt54gx2 ip 192.168.5.5 then i have a cat 5 coming from that router to my apt downstairs that plugs into my linksys rt31p2 ip 192.168.15.15 which is a 3 port router with my vonage phone modem inside. then i run a cat 5 direct into my 2 laptops, 3 port goes to engenious wireless duel band ap ip 192.168.10.10. my laptop that i have easystream server on is 192.158.15.101

that is my setup

now for the other router i also set up ports same way like you did

on my first router on port forward it only give option to forward to 192.168.5.x

the second one i have set to 192.168.15.101

maybe with this info you can find my problem thanks again for your help

An NS Lookup indicates that IP is from the Vonage network...

Official Name:
tftp-07.klga1.s.vonagenetworks.net
