Need Help With Freq For Halifax Ns

Hey everyone, my antenna just recently broke for my bct8 so I went to the source and got a VHF/FM nexxtech antenna. I also got the proper hook up for the back of the bct8 as well I'm just wondering will this antenna work better then the original antenna that came with the bct8 ?

I got my self a Grecom PSR-800 and i'm loving it. I'm picking up a lot the action is great
