Ok... I will assume you have Freescan loaded and running, and your scanner is ON and plugged into your cable/PC...

Click on Scanner...

Now go to Download Programming...

Click on the 'COM1 115200' button to go into the port selection...

And click on Start Auto to find your scanner....

Now hopefully at this point it will come back and say it's found your scanner.... Once we get past this point it's all gravy...

Ok.... It found your radio, that's great. Now in Freescan go to File -> Open then select the file I sent you. It should load and open up. Click on Scanner again from the menu options up to, then this time hit Upload Programming. A new window will pop up similar to what you saw last time. Make sure COM4 shows as the selected port, and also click on the little button beside 'Erase All Systems & Settings'. This will wipe out anything that is in your radio now (giving you a clean slate to work with). Now click the Start Upload button. If all goes well the file will transfer, the scanner will reboot and you should be off and running!

Great! Glad you got it working! Now as you look thru the manual and play with the radio hopefully things will make a little more sense.
