• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Currently I have a PRO83 and it works fine. I see that radioshack is selling a PRO-99 for $100.00 I was thinking of picking this scanner up simply because it is Alpha-numeric and that is something I really want.

Has any1 had these if so how did they work?

Also am I able to program it with a computer?

I might go afterwork and buy it sooo....

Thanks in advance.

I liked the pro-99 although I took it back in exchange for a pro-97. I was tired of fiddling with the race track button and wanted trunking. The pro-99 is nice and is easy to program with win-99. If you dont want trunking and dont mind the race track stuff, it should suit you fine.

Alright programmed it last night. This was what I was looking for. Easy to use and I love the Alpha text.
