Zello Broadcast

Hi everyone and thank you in advance for any help you guys may provide. I’m currently using a uniden 996p2 and an android tablet to broadcast to zello. I’ve used a rode sc7 patch cable trs - trrs directly from the record out port on the back of the scanner to the tablet and even added a inline volume attenuator but can’t seem to get a consistent clear broadcast. sometimes I pick up the full transmission but other times I’m only picking up 2-3 secs into the broadcast. if someone would be able to help me out I would greatly appreciate it. I’ve tried different settings before resorting to my fellow enthusiasts but I can’t seem to figure it out.
im listening to a conventional analog channel and a p25 digital channel.
