Hello everyone, I've come here seeking help. I'm not well versed in scanner operations sadly. I've read a few forums and noticed some of the same issues i've had. Bought a Uniden bcd996p2 scanner for my mom for Christmas since she likes to hear me talk on the scanner at work. I've successfully added Washington 700 moswin frequencies and worked well in the city limits. My mom lives in Union Mo and can not pick up the washington site. I was told that the st clair tower needs to also be added and possibly the weldon spring tower. I can't find how to add the st clair tower since I used the talkgroup ID's for washington. Can anyone possibly help me out?

You just need to enter additional sites in your list that contains the Washington talkgroups.
Talkgroups in a statewide system are Common or System wide and do not need to be added for each site.

So your list would contain the Washington 700 site and the St Clair 700 site and also the Weldon Spring site under sites. Each site should be assigned a different quick key so you can turn individual sites on/off as needed.

Any talkgroups in the same list or system will be checked for traffic by all enabled sites.
I'd advise getting ProScan and also becoming a Premium member here. ProScan really makes programming these 996P2 type scanners so much easier for the beginner.

I don't really have any other advice for manually programming by hand though. At least not for the P2 models.

I have not had time to do this yet. How I understood this is add the addition red/blue frequencies from both sites alongside the red/blue frequencies from washington site? Then the single talkgroup id

There is more than one way to program these new models as they have pretty flexible programming features.

I'd try and study up on the use of quick keys at the system, site and department levels. Quick keys setup correctly can make a huge difference in how you scan and also how easy it can be to turn things on or off quickly if needed.

I'll add that you may not hear the 700 mhz tower in Washington. Many users report not hearing the site to far outside of the city. Depending on were you are, you might get the Jeff Co site, definitely the Washington Co site and possibly the Weldon Spring site.
