I called AT&T (customer service) recently to have them check out a problem with the iPhone and we got talking after words about there towers and she said there working on putting up towers that "SUPPOSEDLY" go "THROUGH" mountains ! I wonder if she was just exaggerateing a bit with the the new LTE or something ??

Does anyone know what she was talking about??

PS (this is not a troll or a joke)!

Hmmm, maybe I'd better pick up a few shares of AT&T. They have either learned to repeal the laws of physics or have discovered a new spectrum of electromagnetic transmission.

/sarc (if anyone needs it)

What they are trying to say is their coverage is so good it seems like the signal goes through mountains..... Sounds like they are trying to make a sale.

Horrible company.
Although I know from experience VZW doesn't like to divulge details about their towers but there's an app for that. And a website.

If you aren't irritated with AT&T with their BS they make up ahead of the sale, just wait until the billing games start.

You'll thank me later.

For cave rescue work, there are VLF radios as in 80KHz or so. A google search on Cave Rescue radio will get you the best information to date.
I don't think that any of the Cell carriers will be investing any time soon.
