Charger BC-123SA (1A) used with one BC-202IP2 (single base only).

Charger BC-228 (4A) used with up to 6 BC-202IPL3 (connect up to 6 to form a bank).

I think the BC-228 and BC-123SA have the same plug, so both can be used with the BC-202IP2.
I figured it out after I thought I broke the base. If you slide the covers off the side theres more plugs inside which appear to link to other BC-202IPL3s. Im guessing I bought the upgraded AC cable as mine is like a computer cord with AC brick.

One feature that i find strange is that once the SD card is in, voice recording is automatically on and it cannot be turned off unless you remove the SD card. I don't really see the point of automatically recording each transmission.

I got the call a month ago from HRO to confirm I am still interested as I placed a deposit the first business hour of the first day HRO announced it. Got another call a week ago, saying they want payment and I asked the price. $650 is about $150-200 too much, its as simple as that. I can afford it and I am without a D-Star HT as I sold my D74A. But, I refuse to give Icom my money based on the MSRP they have set.

I'll continue to enjoy and expand my Wires-X use and Step up my DMR game. I have two ID5100 mobile radios, might just sell them too and drop D-Star.

Grumpy :)

Might try Main trading in Paris, Texas. They may have some left over from pre-sale.

Was able to run down to HRO Woodbridge today. They got a lot of snow and I-95 SB is still shut down. Got the radio home and charging. Can't wait to actually play with it now.

Anyone know if its ok to leave the charger on long after its charged? I know my R30 manual states not to do this but didn't see anything in the manual for the 52A that states not to do this.

I let mine charge overnight if needed, I wouldn’t leave it sitting in the cradle for days though. I generally charge batteries without being attached to the radio (after all the issues with the D74A).

Keep an eye on the charging icon. I think you'll see it turns off charging and won't start charging until voltage drops a predetermined amount.. Lithium chargers have to be safe/smart, too much energy to fool with.

That said, I'm leaving mine in the desktop charging stand. Just like I do with the IC-R30, ID-51s, and IC-705.

I searched the IC-R30 manual it says don't leave battery fully charged (or fully discharged) for extended periods, that's different than leaving it in the charger from day to day or even weekend to weekend. Of course, extended periods isn't defined in the manual. But google says six months, bring it down to 50% or up to 50%.

This may be an Icom thing that I just have to get used too. When trying to use the I U and L functions on my 52 it appears I have to be in the DR Mode to get to them so im unable to control the repeaters or my hotspot from the memory bank. On my D74 I could just go into the digital menu and everything was right there so I could do it from the memory bank. Is there a way to do it like the D74 or do you have to use the DR mode and use near repeater?

You can program those commands as a memory channel. The DStar calculator in RT Systems software works great for that. Maybe the attached PDF will help.
