I’ve done that. Keeps getting held up on a few particular frequencies with nothing but silence and then later I get voice on the very same freq, wasn’t paying attention to which slot. CAP+ displays on the screen as well when this happens. Friday afternoon as I was playing with it I even picked up a TGID on one freq.

That is because it is a CAP+ system or conventional linked. Either way, the only way to avoid this, is to program it as a CAP+ trunk with each site.
When you do so, if you don't have any TGs assigned, then just add a dummy one. (i.e. 1 and label it, Dummy 1 or etc).
Then set the overall system to ID search.
Each set listed above will be its own site, FYI. Don't worry about LCNs at the moment.

I had errands to do in Nashua, so I had supper at Zesty's in Chelmsford. I took along my Radio laptop and did a spectrum recording of the 460 to 465 MHz band while driving through Chelmsford. I like doing spectrum recordings because I can play it back and decode multiple frequencies (one at a time) using DSDPlus. I was able to catch some of the sites.

System is Motorola Linked Capacity Plus.
It looks like the lower repeater frequency is Channel 1/2 and the higher repeater frequency is Channel 3/4. So far all the sites are DCC 7.

Site 1 Chelmsford Public Schools Administration Offices 230 North Rd
461.5875 Channel 1/2

Site 2 Chelmsford High School 200 Richardson Rd
463.4375 Channel 1/2

Site 3 McCarthy Middle School 250 North Road
461.6375 Channel 1/2
462.0375 Channel 3/4

Site 4 Parker Middle School 75 Graniteville Rd
461.6875 Channel 1/2

Site 7 Harrington Elementary School 120 Richardson Road
461.6625 Channel 1/2

Awesome, thanks! Were you able to figure out who is who on the TGID based on convo? There are a bunch of “i” TGIDs too, plugged it in as i0, will keep listening in discovery mode on my days off to figure out more TGIDs. I’ve picked up 10,110, 120, 160 and 180. Unit IDs also correlate with the TGIDs. 9000s are on TGID 180 which I believe to be Chelmsford Community Education also known as CHIPS.

I had to go up to New Hampshire today, so I did an experiment using my SDS200 and SDRPlay RSPDx for spectrum recording.

Looking at the sites, it was possible the numbering went Admin, High, Middle, and Elementary with each school in alphabetical order within the category. It was also possible each site had the LCN in frequency order of the repeaters. I created a favorites list for my SDS200 based on these assumptions. I also drove by the sites doing spectrum recording and picked up some voice traffic on the SDS200.

It turns out site numbering is as I figured. The LCN is in frequency order of the repeaters except it is flipped for site 9. I also discovered site 1 appears to be using an unlicensed frequency.

I suspect each school has a simple setup with at least a main talkgroup.

I dug into the spectrum recordings some more. I found that 464.9375 was an image and Channel 3/4 is really 463.3375 MHz. I also confirmed a few more frequencies. I thought the Radio IDs (RID) were based on the site (50xx = site 5), but then the radios on site 3 are 40xx.
