Ok, I have questions about the database update for Penobscot County. Are the COM 1-2-3 channel designations no longer used? Do they still have the repeaters at other locations for Fire and Law that used 153.740 and 155.490 that had different PL tones on the output? Is the new frequency for Old Town / Orono verified?

I’ll be up there this summer and wanted to make sure my programming is still current.

So it looks like COMM 2, COMM 3, and Penobscot SO stayed the same, just a different name. However what is listed at the top as County Law 2 (Orono/OT/Veazie PD) does not match what is listed below under Orono and Old Town. This is confusing and needs to be clarified. My guess is that Orono/Old Town PD didn't change and that this new County Law 2 is mislabeled. I will be up in the area for Easter and can verify if someone more local can't do it before then.

I wonder if "someone" submitted incorrect data, just so they could be right? Just a thought.

@ME343 thoughts?

I've been communicating with someone who has a lot of the information. Old Town/Orono/Veazie Fire Departments are now dispatched on Fire 1. Police Departments are dispatched on Law 2. As for the old channels unsure of the usage. I'll be changing them to law talk for time being.

Intersting, why the change? Especially with the Orono/OT PD frequency, seems like it has been working fine for years. Also Orono/OT fire no longer has their own channel?

Do an FCC search. Click on license of what you want to view. Click on [Admin] tab. Under Applications, click on any of the file numbers under [File Number and Type]. It will open another page. On that page, go to the third tab named [Trans Log]. Click on it and under that it will show a whole list, by date, of what they did or are trying to do with the license. It will say [Existing Value] and next to that will have the [Requested Value] (what they are trying to change or have changed on the license. This will show if they changed a frequency or want to or if they want to add sites or raise the power................ it will show all of what is going on with said license.

I got into the Penobscot county area an hour ago or so and can already tell a major difference in signal strength. I’ve also heard at least old town pd units on law 2 so that checks out as well. I haven’t heard orono or old town fire yet so can’t confirm what channel they are on but I will update if I hear them.

Anyone know if the old primary frequency for Orono/Old Town PD is still in use? Or completely inactive? (155.415)
Also wondering the same for the fire frequency (155.775)
