I've been a scanner user for many, many years but I've run into something I just can't resolve.
I live in ILM and monitor what little public safety radio traffic there is. My problem is the quality of the New Hanover County trunked audio. It seems to be choppy or missing audio almost all of the time and this is on all of my scanners, i.e. SDS100, HP2, 996P2 etc. It's not a squelch setting. It happens even with the squelch wide open. The P25 audio on my Icom R30 is sooo much better but the R30 does not offer trunking.
I'd appreciate any advice.
