Hello Members,

I am new to scanning and have been all over the posts in here. I am using a Radio Shack Pro-164 Tripple Trunk. I have the basic programming that came with it from Radio Shack and just made a purchase from Police-Scanner.info for codes that i am missing. His site seemed pretty reliable so I hope I am not getting ripped off. I am curious what the guys that have been doing this a while think of the Pro-164? Do you think it was a good purchase. I got it from Radio Shack for 159.00. If anyone has any helpful hints on programming I would love the input. I can program in the codes but I am majorly confused on the trunking. I will probably figure it out eventually but would love to get it done without having to reprogram the whole thing after screwing it up. Any input would be appreciated.

Happy Scanning

All the Talkgroup and ID and freq info you need is on this site or on Intercept Northwest site. No need to pay someone for freq or talkgroup info. Please feel free to email or message me for any other info you would like. Have fun and enjoy your new toy!!

Thanks Mike. I am working through the programming but pretty confused about the trunking. I am probably going to buy the software from Radio Shack that will send the data directly to the scanner. I know it is cheating but it will get the job done while i am still learning. Are you in Snohomish County?

All the info you need is available on the net. There is no need to pay anyone for any info related to the Snohomish County Emergency Radio System.

All the info you need can be found at these two sites.

The Pro-164 is a perfectly good scanner for the area. And it will support the reband that is on the way.

And lastly, get a piece of software to program the scanner. Doing it by hand, with any scanner, is a royal pain.

Welcome abroad as it has been stated all you need can be found for free at ether site both have great info and it is free for you.the only advantage is if you are a premium member here with software you can do a web import and program your scanner a lot faster when I got back into scanning a few years back I found it very simple to use software and do a web import from this site.
