Thanks for that information. I wonder if it is possible that the library for TRX-1 and TRX-2 are not up to date because of the changes and transition with the Whistler group. :)

The new Whistler has been updating the database weekly for a couple months (or more) now, there has been no issues that I have found. The current database is 942, updated today.

Morris County Simulcast - Enable attenuation on this trunked system (must also change the Attenuation Mode from Normal to Global) to reduce the number of simulcast towers that can be received from your location. Additionally you can lay your radio on its side so the antenna is horizontal to further reduce the units ability to receive the more distant towers.

That has been the experience of anyone I know..

There's one site called simulcast and I believe 26 towers.. the lower end they overlap each other. There is no isolating those puppies.

On NJICS I'm closest to Bordentown and Trenton simulcast sites and they're not that far from each other, I could use either one.

Welcome to radio reference, I see that you joined later this evening.

Thank you I will give that a try.

I personally have never been able to get the trx-1 to work on any phase ll simulcast, it also does not work on Bucks County or Burlington County for me.
I have a phase II near me and both the TRX-1 & 2 both work with without issue. If you have made changes to the DSP, ADC or DAC, I would reset to factory and start over. It took a while to find the best settings. I wish the user had the ability to adjust these while actually listening to a talk group.

Hello,
I tried this and it really helped quite a bit. I am getting occasional lost syllables when copying traffic on Morris County Simulcast. Are there any DSP/DAC settings I can adjust that may give additional improvement. Any further suggestions appreciated.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Years ago I tried these adjustments as I was desperately wanting radio to work on my County. Many people tried these adjustments and there were some threads describing results.

As has been described here the response to phase1 simulcast and phase 2 are different. On phase 1 you will get voice transmissions but they will be broken and distorted and on phase 2 similcast distortion is usually just no transmission at all. You really need to be able to hear some kind of modulation to adjust these settings. Results are not actually real time. You just make the adjustments and hope you start to hear something.

For me it never improved anything with simulcast reception but there were changes in clarity and modulation which was very sharp and clear on analog systems. Also performance on Motorola type ll SmartZone systems was very sharp and clear and didn't need any of these adjustments change from default.

Over about a year, I would read something about these adjustments and I would go back and try again. I did that maybe half a dozen times before I just stopped trying. Certainly worth giving a try as different systems and your own location might get different results.

Don't take my word for it, give it a try.

Thanks, I guess your experimentation with those settings helped on Phase II audio quality, etc? I'll reset and start from scratch to see what result i can get...
