Anyone hear anything yet on the new TR site? Was listening for a few hours this morning and only heard Barnegat and Wall.

Just got talkgroup 27 (Parkway Maintenance South) on TR. Barnegat is coming in way better in Bayville than TR is, though. It's either running in low power mode or throwing RF in the opposite direction.

I think the Toms River site is a low powered fill-in type. Once I get about 4 - 5 miles from it, I start to lose the signal strength. But it was definitely a much needed addition to the system overall for coverage.

OK guys, here's some more info for you to check out when in the area (if you can).

The NJTPA has sites on their licenses that have not been identified as active (or deployed yet). The main one is this:

Galloway Township (Atlantic County)
WSB626
39.50733, -74.51736
GSP MP 44.0 (Port Republic)
854.30625
854.31875
857.03125
857.04375

Now, the other 2 are a bit more confusing, as they are very close to already known sites, and share all the frequencies with them:

Upper Township (Cape May County)
WSB624
39.194, -74.71022
GSP MP 19.4 (Cape May Toll Plaza)
854.40625
854.41875
854.68125
854.69375
856.03125
856.04375
857.08125
857.09375
858.08125
858.09375
(854.40625, 854.41875, 854.68125, 854.69375 shared with nearby Egg Harbor Site 13)
(857.08125, 857.09375, 858.08125, 858.09375 shared with nearby Swainton Site 14)

-and-

Hightstown (Mercer County)
WQTT927
40.26608, -74.51367
TPKE MP 67.6 (Exit 8)
856.58125
856.59375
857.58125
857.59375
(Shares all frequencies with nearby Cranbury Site 4; may be a two-site simulcast cell)

The 2nd and 3rd sites might very well be 'directional simulcasts' as the other admin I'm discussing this seems to think. The only way would be to go near the sites & check the RSSI levels with the antenna off your scanner, etc.

Anyone willing to check these out in your travels?

Can you go through the radio and tell us what's programmed?

Sorry it took months to get back to you. I finally got a hold on the Turnpike foreman's radio. I was able to write down the channel list programmed into it. I was unable to see frequencies or any ID's.

1)Turnpike Fleetwide
2)Swedesboro
3)Moorestown
4)Crosswicks
5)Hightstown
6)Milltown
7)Elizabeth
8)Newark
9)Seacaucus
10) Jersey City
11) East Rutherford
12)Trades
13)Turnpike Northern Division
14)Turnpike Southern Division

I programmed this system with woodbridge and Holmdel as my sites because I am closest to them. I am running on a BcD536HP and when I select the system to scan it shows “nothing to scan”. Anyone able to help here? I used the sentinel software to import everything from the database.

Make sure monitor favorites list and download favorites list are both set to on when you right click on the favorites list that you have the system programmed.

So everything appears to be in the radio, when I turn the list on to monitor it says nothing to scan.

I did some range testing with my new Unication G5 and I can lock onto the Toms River site from Route 9 and 70 (Toms River/Lakewood border) and stay in range until Fischer Blvd and Route 37.

I had the time to travel down to the Atlantic City area, and the Port Republic Site quoted above is indeed new Site 16. It's a low powered fill-in site for a coverage gap between New Gretna and Great Egg toll plaza locations. Time to update scanners, radios, programming software, etc.

I'm listening in Newark, and usually the strongest site is the Woodbridge Site, followed by the Bloomfield Site. Lately the Wall (Monmouth County) Site has been booming in here at 4-5 bars. Is this possible, or has something changed with that site location/frequency?

I get them on Bloomfield Site here, I am shocked there is nothing in the Newark or Jersey City area.

Agreed. You'd think they would at least be a site on the Newark Bay Extension near 14A or District 7. I'm still trying to figure out why the Wall site Is coming in so strong when I'm at least 50 miles away.

If you check the DB entry you'll see that a bunch of the sites have common control channels but they are separated by large distances. So you may think it's the Wall (Site 10) but it's probably Paramus (Site 1).
