I thought Ft. Dix was going to use the McGuire AFB TRS.

When the MAFB system came on line for Ft. Dix, Fire went to it for about a month, coverage was very poor, so they went back to their VHF system. They are operating on the BurlCo system because of the extensive mutual aid work both on and off the base, they only have to carry one portable. They are alerted on the MAFB TRS, and are patched onto the Fire 1 TG.
FYI-Look for the new DoD TRS in the 380-400 mhz range to be implemented on McGuire/Dix/Lakehurst, one of the BRAC recommendations is to have one installation management organization for the 3 bases, meaning 1 PD, 1 FD, etc.

McGuire Fire will have the capability of patching their TG's onto the NE zone Fire & EMS TG's. There are no plans to have any other DoD Fire, Police, or EMS units operating on the BurlCo system.

Two talkgroups to add 2960 and 2992 both were used by comand staff for airshow coordination.
