Hey folks, good to be here. I’ve been a long-time lurker on the forum…..just sitting back, reading, learning, and nodding along more times than I can count. Figured it’s finally time to step out from the shadows and introduce myself.Military background here…..served with pride, still carrying that mindset in everything I do. I’ve got a deep respect for this community, the knowledge shared, and the straight talk that comes with it.

Looking forward to learning more, swapping some stories, and contributing where I can. Appreciate the add.

Welcome to Radio Reference. Tell us about your interests that involve radio?
Appreciate the warm welcome to Radio Reference. My background includes active service in the military, where radio communications played a critical role in operations and coordination. My interest in radio is both professional and personal …… I’m especially drawn to tactical comms, airband, and emergency response frequencies. I’m here to stay sharp, share knowledge, and learn from others with experience in both civilian and military radio operations. Looking forward to engaging with the community.

If you're considering purchasing a scanning receiver, be aware that many areas have migrated to sophisticated new radio systems that might not be able to be scanned with a traditional analog scanner.
If you're not already aware, you can query the Radio Reference database to determine which radio systems are in your area. It can be confusing for a newbie, so feel free to ask any questions here or in the sub-forum for your state before you make an expensive purchase.
