This probably isnt the best place to introduce myself, but I wanted to get some feedback from NH members.

First off, i'm from Dunbarton but both work and go to school in Concord, so i'm there more often then not. (I deliver pizza :))

Anyways, I recently bought a slightly used PRO-2096 off eBay for $300. Now I read a few threads here saying how the CPD frequency is sometimes overpowered by a group in Maine, but would that be the case even if I was in Concord when I was listening?

Right now I have a PRO-2055 which I picked up for about $120 about a year ago, and works fine for the CFD and such, but I've always wanted to hear the local police action. Since I wasnt a huge scanner buff, right now I have a cheap $20 antenna that I have mounted in my trunk which can't be seen (didnt want to scratch up my '07 Camry). Anyways, i've seen a few photos around here with mobile-style antennas which I would love to have, however I really dont like the idea of drilling through my car. Are there any other options for a more "sleek" looking antenna then the traditional mag-mount 3-4' ones with the bulky wire?

Hi Geoff5093:

I use a Radial Larsen Tri-Band with a trunk lip mount on my 05' Camry. The antenna works great and I like the low profile. Also hol drilling required ;-) A picture is attached.

Thanks - Mike

Thanks! Did you mean that you needed to drill a hole for that? Seems like since it's trunk mounted that it would just "sit" on the trunk.

About the CPD frequencies, they dont use a trunked system do they? So I would manually enter these two frequencies into the scanner just as I would with analog frequencies?

RR shows this for them:

Typing error on my part. No hole required for a trunk lip mount. It sits on the trunk (padded bottom) and has screws on the underneath side of the trunk.

For the Concord PD digital channels, yes you would program in the ferquencies you have listed. The 155.62500 is the main dispatch for the Concord PD.

FYI - You might want to give serious consideration to using the Win96 software program for the Pro-2096. It's a terrific way to program your scanner. Go here for a fully functional 30-day trial demo. You will need a cable to connect your scanner to the PC, but those are available at Radio Shack and on the internet.

Alright cool, thats what I thought.

I actually already have the Win96 program on my PC, but I havent been able to get a hold of the PC cable because it's out of stock on the RS website and I cant find any in stores.
