Finally got my 436HP! Put in the batteries, pushed the power button down, and I got a brief "SD card error." Tried again, same error.

Now when I push the power button, nothing happens.

I installed Sentinel, when I plugged in the scanner it doesn't find an SD card.

Where is the SD card? I cannot find the location. And any help? This would be a pain to have to return/exchange!

Thanks

OK, found the SD card (duh, under the batteries.) Removed the batteries, pulled out the SD card, reseated it, put the batteries back in, pushed the power button, got the SD card access error again. Plugged in the scanner to the PC again, this time it asked if I wanted to charge the batteries, I said yes, so it shows them charging.

However, Sentinel still does not see the SD card. :(

Further info:

Used SD Format to format the micro SD card.

Now when I turn on the scanner it turns on as normal, then gives me:

SD Card File Error
Use Sentinel
"Clear User Data" operation to initialize SD card

Cool!

BUT - I plug the scanner into the USB cord and start up Sentinel - go to Scanner - Clear User Info - it pops up the box that says Select Micro USB but shows no card.

I also noticed the scanner now shows USB Mass Storage on the screen.

Help! Driving me crazy I can't use my cool new scanner!

OK - answering my own problem:

I reformatted the card. Plugged it back into the cable into the PC. Started Sentinel again. Went to clear user info, checked the box to check all drives, and for some reason now it showed the G drive. Cleared the user info, then hit update firmware, and it did.

I assume I can start now? Or do I have to write all the info from Sentinel back to the scanner/SD card again?

Update the database in Sentinel and then write that to the scanner to be sure everything is up to date.

. . . and you'll need to do that Write to Scanner every time you update the master database in Sentinel, if you want to keep the scanner current.
