I received a BC75XLT and I would like to scan my local fire EMS and police. I live in Wayne county Ohio is that possible with this scanner? I have programmed channels per the instructions and do not hear anything. Please advise and thank you in advance.

Welcome to the RR forums. The BC75XLT is a conventional analog scanner so you won't be able to pick up anything digital (P25, DMR, etc) Your county sheriff and police operate on Ohio MARCS which unfortunately is a P25 Phase-I trunked radio system. See list of supported scanners here. You should be able to pick up your county fire as long as mode is "FMN" (analog) though there are also fire talkgroups on MARCS that you won't be able to pick up with your BC75XLT so your best bet is to use the links I gave you to consult the database to see who operates where

Good morning & welcome to RR! I believe that The information above is your answer to your basic question, however if you are trying to see what radio traffic there is on the P25 system, check out the BLUE links on the RR page. You can listen without a scanner there.
