I've just purchased a Uniden BCD325P2 and I'm looking to program it with ProScan, but can't figure out for the life of me how to get a database here to actually load into the scanner. The only files I've seen that come up for download are in Excel and Adobe, and ProScan is asking for a text file? I'm new to programming, as I've had my uncles old RS PRO-92 for decades, but it was already programmed by him (manually) ages ago. I don't want to have to go the manual route, but I'm only wanting a handful of local frequencies input, so that might be my best option if I can't get this sorted. Any help is welcomed and appreciated!

Look up "free scan" to program. Takes awhile, but you will get hang of it.

Hi & welcome to the RR forums:
Where are you from? I see you're an RR premium subscriber. If you are using the latest version of Proscan, use the Favorites editor and sign in with your RR username & password. Choose country, state, county, agency(ies), etc

One minor edit. Menu structure is a bit different on the 325p2 proscan instance (versus my first screenshot which showed a BCD536HP instance): Database > Import > Radioreference Web...

I actually stumbled upon it under "import" right after I posted the thread. Got some good local PD and DOT frequencies, although I read that my state police department is working on going encrypted 😞

Is ProScan communicating with the scanner?
Did you open a database file in ProScan? To do that, go to the File menu then click on New then type in a name for the file then click the Save or OK button. After that, you should be able to import from the RRDB

play with the software while you use the softwares user manual, everything you need to do is menu driven and is right in front of you. you will learn as you go, just remember to save the files often.

I found it after posting this thread. It's in a drop-down menu and not an actual UI button like I had thought it would have been 🤷‍♂️

I actually stumbled upon it after I posted this thread. You would think the devs would make it easy to find, but nothing is perfect.
I think it's easy enough to find. & FYI the "dev" is the member @ProScan on this thread. Bob is always willing to lend a helping hand to the RR/Proscan community ;)
